Tanjiro Kamado is the protagonist of the manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge.
Following the tragic murder of his family by demons and the subsequent transformation of his sister, Nezuko, into one, Tanjiro embarks on a perilous journey. His primary goal is to find a cure to restore Nezuko's humanity and avenge his family's deaths.
To achieve this, Tanjiro becomes a demon slayer, undergoing rigorous training and mastering the Water Breathing style, and later, the Hinokami Kagura (Sun Breathing) technique. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps, a secret organization dedicated to eradicating demons and protecting humanity.
Throughout his journey, Tanjiro demonstrates unwavering compassion, a strong sense of justice, and fierce determination. He forms close bonds with his fellow demon slayers, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira, and faces numerous formidable demons, growing stronger and more skilled with each battle.
